"Truely Divine"  dapple grey throughbred mare owned by Devine Equine and shown by Kylie Boulton.

At her very first show (in-hand) she did extremely well gaining Reserve Champion Park Hack.   She then went on to her first ridden show at the Indoor Arena at the ChCh Showgrounds where she behaved very well for her first ridden show.

Devine Equine Annual Show

FIRST SHOW AT

“DEVINE EQUINE TRAINING CENTRE”

February 2011

The first show held at “Devine Equine Supreme Champion Feb ShowTraining Centre” which opened this month in Waterholes Road, Templeton - was a great success. The show was organised at very short notice and there were 55 horses and ponies entered.  The show was a fund raising event for Tayla Nawisielski who has been selected to represent New Zealand in the New Zealand Miniature Horse Association Youth Team competition to be held in Sydney at the Miniature Horse Assoc of Australia (Inc) National Show in April this year. We were very fortunate to be able to utilise a superior international horse judge/instructor/trainer Wayne Hipsley (BSc,MSc) from the USA, who had been conducting clinics here at our Centre earlier in the week.  The show incorporated classes for in hand ponies up to 148cms, and also miniature horses.  Garlands and trophies were presented to the Champions, and this show is going to be an annual event, along with many other activities planned.  The judge was amazed at the quality and presentation of the ponies and horses, and is going to be returning to NZ later this year to conduct further clinics. The judge commented that he has not seen anything like this anywhere in the world, where seminars are held - and then a show of this standard to follow.

The centre has been set up in conjunction with Claremont Miniature Horse Stud which was established in 1990  by Debbie Devine.  Her father “Cecil” trained some well known racehorses from this property, including 6 New Zealand Trotting Cup winners, the last of these being “Lord Module”,  and he would be proud to see his property now being utilised as a horse training facility, benefiting enthusiastic horse people from all disciplines.

The centre has  very well qualified instructors to give lessons in all aspects of horsemanship with clients own horses or the centres own horses and ponies.

We also break miniature  horses into harness and provide miniature horse showing, driving and performance instruction.  Enquiries are most welcome.
